Post your marks here

I request you all to post your JEE main score here so that we can get an idea of how the paper was and how you all did.
My views:
Paper was easier as compared to last year's paper
Chemistry was easiest
Physics was also not that difficult as it was last year
Maths was as usual moderate
What do you all say?
Post your opinion here

    1. Well even I feel that chemistry was super easy. You did physics well which seemed to be slightly lengthy and tough.
What exactly is your weak point in chemistry ? Physical, organic or inorganic ?

    2. organic and bit of inorganic bt main problem is organic ... :(

    3. well just go through the books
      practice questions
      identify weak areas
this is all I can say
I really don't think I can help you in any other way.

  3. i felt paper was tougher than last years...esp maths ! I mean, problems weren't difficult, but they consumed some time..

  4. getting 257
    p-91
    c-92
    m-74
Ran out of time, cudnt solve 3-4 easy questions in physics.
Personally felt physics was ncert-ish. Math was easier than expected.

  5. getting 325 maths-120 chem-110 physics-95 .i worked hard to do well in maths but lost some easy questions in physics. aman bhaiya i also wanted to ask how did u manage to stay calm and cool in such a hot season(42 degrees here in bhopal )?? (like i got very sweaty, hands got wet and was also nervous as the closing time was approaching)

    1. It was over 45 degrees on the JEE advanced day last year (in Kanpur)
I had 2 handkerchiefs and by the end of paper 1, they were soaked completely
      Nothing can be done
Examination pressure adds to the existing sweat and heat

  6. getting 310
Physics 100 Maths 115 Chems 95 !! is it good

  7. 250+ is excellent and 300+ is outstanding
If you are indeed getting 300+ in this paper then you will definitely do well in JEE Advanced.
But I request you all not to be over-confident.
JEE Main and JEE Advanced are 2 different roads
You may do well in an easy road but a tough road might take you down.
All the best for JEE Advanced to all of you

  8. Getting 200...
    Physics - 60
    Mathematics - 57
    Chemistry - 83...

I felt that questions from physics were both conceptually hard and calculations also took time..
Can I get into a decent NIT with this ?

  9. What will be the cut off according to you?

  10. Bhaiya, I'm getting a score around 250. Does that mean I can't get top 1000 rank in jee advanced?

  11. In mathematics sec. , ques. no.5 , code G ,where AA'=A'A(A being non-singular) and B=A^(-1)A',find BB'...

...is it not feasible to assume that A is a Diagnol Matrix? , as product of 2 diagnol matrices is commutative,as given in the ques.(AA'=A'A).
If we assume(correctly) so then we would know that A'=A(for diagnol matrix).
    => B=A^(-1)A'=A^(-1)A=I(identity matrix)

This would further imply that B'=B=I(identity matrix)
    =>BB'=I*I=I
Hence 1st is the correct option.

PS- i watched ur plancess videos(mainly to see our STAR at work :P)
    they were pretty good though..

  12. Bhaiya.
What do you think about this question?
A student measured the length of a rod and wrote it as 3.50 cm. Which instrument did he use to measure it?
    (1) A screw gauge having 100 divisions in the circular scale and pitch as 1 mm.
    (2) A screw gauge having 50 divisions in the circular scale and pitch as 1 mm.
    (3) A meter scale.
    (4) A vernier calliper where the 10 divisions in vernier scale matches with 9 division in main scale and
main scale has 10 divisions in 1 cm.

Everyone says that the answer should be vernier callipers because it has least count as 0.01 cm.
But i feel that when we report a measurement the last digit reported is not sure (as we learn in significant digits that the last digit has an error of ±1). The language of the question is also "student wrote it as".
So shouldn't the answer be meter scale?

  13. What wud you say to someone who's getting ~210-220, with weak areas as ---> "Organic chem." ( as a whole, esp. --> "Application of "MECHANISMS" to solve 'Most Problems') and Inorganic chem. (esp. --> periodic classification with Properties of 'Important Compounds', surface chem., metallurgy, biochemistry) & weak in Magnetism (whole, including "magnetism & matter") and applications of Elec. & Mag. in 'practical problems' & has a strong base in Mathematics, but requires "Speed" in 'calculations' ? In this ~40 days' period, how can he be "pumped up" for 'Advanced' & come out 'Upbeat' after it? I am trying 2 " come 2 the point" 4 you to help him out, 'because' all that matters to him is . . . . . - - - - > " JEE (A D V A N C E D)" r8 now . .!

  14. Well, I found that 4 marks for correct and 1/4 deduction for wrong answer. According to probablity, 1 out of 4 ques will be correct and 3 wrong. This means we get +3 for 4 ques even if we do tukkai on every question!

Well does it mean we should tukka all those ques which we dont know for this exam?

    ReplyDelete

    1. The probability you applied isn't always right. You are assuming that atleast 1 out of 4 questions is right. And even then the total marks from those 4 questions (if 1 is right and other wrong), will be +1 not +3.

    2. Well in JEE main 2013, I guessed 4 questions in physics (all from semiconductors) and all 4 went wrong

  19. Hello Aman , my question is..... the thing is i was preparing well for jee mains 2014 in mock tests and all i used to get above 250 and above i had high hopes but ended up getting 200 odd score jee main paper 11th....well i analysed my mistakes thing was i started with physics my strongest subject started off with toughest question wasted 10 minutes on that and got only 4 questions in next 20 minutes for some reason i had gone blank!so i moved on to chemistry i finished it in 40 minutes easily then math too went ok but in tha last hour when i returned to physics i still cpuld not solve many questions.......when i came home i did them easily no problem like see i have finished irodov mechanics and my instis modules....but screwed up math and phy on jee day. ALso my weakness was chemistry which i put my effort on after board exams hence ended up doing really well (96/120) but actually my strong subjects are physics nd math .....i asked my teachers they said i had very poor examination skills also they said i should study all 3 subjects per day not only my weak subject chemistry please help me out bro i would be very greatful i know i have the poential to be an iitian......also right now i am working on those paper skills and have already improved much according to institute......currently doing revision.... i have nothing to lose i have already ensured a good college so i can give max to jee advanced so please motivate me and guide me... thank you .
