As I have already mentioned, I didn't attend the school (best strategy for JEE preparation). This left me with a huge amount of time. We had 3 coaching classes a week. I used to wake up in the morning at around 6.45 AM. At around 7.30, I was ready to study. My parents ensured that this schedule was followed strictly. My peak study time (the time when you get maximum output for a given input) was from 7.30 AM to 10.30 AM and i tried to avoid any kind of distraction during this interval. This time is very crucial for your preparation and varies from student to student. Some students are comfortable at night but I avoided night studying. I hardly remember any day where I can imagine myself studying after 8 PM.
During your JEE preparation, you will have to face many barriers and to be successful, you need to tackle them wisely. Many people start the preparation with a huge energy but soon get distracted - malls, friends, family, cousins, relatives, girlfriends, boyfriends, cigarette, drinking and a bunch of other stupid things. Seriously, I would say that "Shut your brain for everything else and bang your head on the books!!!"
Everything will be yours if you get a decent rank in JEE and I promise you that your relatives would be the first one to "taunt" you or better "leave" you if you fail..!!

ReplyDeletei hope u also write about strategy of revision during the last 3-4 mnths...and also how to prepare mentally for D-DAY....
ReplyDelete1.)How many hours did you study on a school day and during holidays ?
ReplyDelete2.)Is fiitjee material enough for top 50 rank?
3.)how much did you score in your phase tests and aiits's?
thnx in advance...
@sandeep :
ReplyDeleteI never attended the school so for me all days were like holidays :)
The number of hours depended on the amount of material that was yo be covered and varied greatly from 0 hours a day to like 12-14 hours a day.
Fiitjee material is good for a top 50 rank but you should be wis. Enough to use it smartly. It's your efforts that will matier not the material or the teacher
In phase tests my score used to be around 420/480
In Aits my score varied a lot. I remember scoring 235/410 in first Aits but still ending up with 6th rank.
Aits papers are not uniform. Sometimes they are easier other times they are extremely tough so my score varied a lot
bhaiyya, how did u use fiitjee material wisely?

DeleteDifficult to answer.
ReplyDeleteFiitjee material has good problems.
My main focus was to cover these problems well and also note down any concept that is given in the package but not taught in class
Thnx
Deletehello Aman...i am enrolled wid the dlp of BRILLIANT TUTORIALS.....r their materials AT PAR WID IIT-JEE for A TOP 50 RANK?
ReplyDeleteWell I request all of you to stop asking me to give reviews of different books/material etc.
DeleteI haven't tried everything. I have clearly mentioned all the books/materials that I used. I don't have any idea of any other material
Can I crack jee advanced 2015 I did nt study properly in 11 but know the concepts but have no practice what should be my strategy
ReplyDeleteCome on, grow up. You'll be in an engineering college in another 1.5 years.
DeleteMake your own decisions. You have another 15-16 months in hand.
All I can do is guide you. I cannot decide what suits you/what is best for you
Is it must to compete 11 th syllabus before 11 th gets over by doing limited no. Of problems or to do each chapter completely ,can it be done side by side during 12 th class ? And approximately how many problems per chapter should I practice ,according to the weightage or equally?
ReplyDeleteYou 11th class won't get that final finish until your entire JEE syllabus is completed.
DeleteSome of your unanswered questions in class 11th will be answered only when your class 12th is also over.
So be patient but at your level, you should be contended and convinced that you can do better than others.
Of course solving same number of problems of each chapter doesn't make any sense. Solve till you get a firm grip over the topic.
And for your question below (pre boards), you should focus more on JEE rather than on pre boards because 11th pre boards are meaningless
Thanks a lot , but in my state board 11 boards marks may or may not be,(nobody knows ) considered for mains that's why I asked.

DeleteI have 11 th pre boards and board from next month so should I concentrate on that or iit preparation
ReplyDeleteHey bhaiya I am in 10th standard at present and will be going to 11th std this year. As you have mentioned that you didn't attend school and that is the best strategy for jee preparation so I also want to join a dummy school but my parents are not accepting the idea of me joining a dummy school so I will be forced to join my present school where 90% attendance is compulsary and I don't think I will be able to manage both school and coaching like
ReplyDelete6am to 1pm (6h school +1h for getting ready for school) , 3pm to 8pm ( 4 h coaching + 1 h travelling), 12 am to 6am (6h sleep) , 1 to 2 pm (1 hour for lunch , dinner and all) so I will hardly be left with 5 hrs from which 2 hours will be used up in school assignments and I will be left only with 3 hours in hand+ I will be exausted and will not be able to concentrate properly even if I am able to manage time but then still I will not be able to practice more as I will be fully occupied with assignments, projects for full 2 years as my school teachers are very strict about these. So how should i manage time so that i can practice more also my school teachers do not teach properly so 6h at school will be total waste. Please suggest how can I manage time properly as I am aim for a double digit rank and I don't think I will be able to crack jee with this hectic routine.
Convince your parents that school study is a waste of time.
DeleteThe same happened with me. My parents didn't agree at all and I was forced to go to school for some 2 months in class 11th. But finally, I took a decision of leaving the school and told my parents that it's getting to hectic for me to manage everything.
I decided to leave the school
My class 10th class teacher came to my home to convince me that leaving school will be a disaster for me but I was adamant. I completely disagreed and decided to leave the school.
And it helped.
PS : I am really sorry but I can't help you in time management. If I knew that, then I wouldn't have left my school and joined a dummy school
Thankyou bhaiya for your reply. I will try to convince my parents again. I will make sure that they agree this time.
DeleteHello Aman Bhaiyya,
ReplyDeleteYou know, I have to call you bhaiyya since I'm in 10th.
I'm in class 10, and everyone around me in FIITJEE has started to prepare for IIT JEE (which we'll be taking in 2018). They are quite a bit ahead of me, and honestly, I get terrified of all that I have to study and I feel like I don't know anything compared to my peers. Can you please help me and give me some tips for preparation? I'm quite good in academics with a 10 CGPA in class 9, and I want to improve and raise myself to the JEE level. My goal is to get an AIR below 30 in the JEE.
Wait! I meant the JEE Advanced!
DeleteI cannot afford big institutes. What can I do to score a 2 digit ran in iitjee
