Aman, I tried some problems from "Problems Plus in IIT mathematics" by A Das Gupta, but I think many problems are above JEE level as most include tedious calculations and application of innumerable formulas. I have R D Sharma as well, is quitting Das Gupta and starting trigonometry from RD Sharma a good idea? (you mentioned that it was enough for trig)

I didn't knew where to ask , so please sorry commenting on unreleated page. I have gone to 12th will be facing JEE mains/adv. next here. Here's my situation. Cleared RMO in 10th. In 11th ... a girl... hence didn't studied much in 11th. Realized my mistake , left older school and her , now in a non-attending school + local coachings. Studying hours is between 12 to 15 hours currently but I am facing lots of difficulty in managing 12th portion and covering 11th's BACKLOG . For example , i have done electrostatics well in 12th but questions come combined with 11th's mechanics and this combination i am not able to cope up. How should i proceed my topic priorities , i mean if i do mechanics now i will miss 12th portion....My backlogs are :- Maths: Coordinate Geometry, complex . Rest topics are very strong. Physics : Rotational, Moment,Collision. Thermo & Fluid mechanics just strong. Rest topics read theory but almost no problem solvd. Chemistry: Thermodynamics >strong. Organic >Read theory and did easy problems .Rest backlog! Please help , it could be anything ,help in management, advice tips, etc !:/
Hi Aman, during your early stages did you solve each and every sum from RD Sharma or some typical problems only. RD Sharma 11 and 12 are great, but time consuming too. A little advice in this. Just 1 year left(Actually less than one year now). Never solved RD Sharma in 11
Well I never solved Rd sharma But I have seen that book and I believe it's the beat book for fundamentals What I would suggest you is to solve the "solved examples" yourself at least to get an idea
hello bhaiya. i am a student of class 11 and i have given my board exams in march 2014.i am really addicted for jee advanced(i never thought of mains).when i sit to try to try and solve problems of past jee papers i found themto be a cake walk(not for maths).but when i solve aieee questions i am not able to solve it.they are long but easy.so what should i do.i want rank 1 but my parents say that you cant even qualify.i got 9.6 cgpa and people are making a fun of me.i want to clear rmo but when i see the paper,it is full of no theory and polynomials which are not a part of jee and i am blank.all people say that all those who are in top 100 air have a god gifted mind.i only study for 8 hours a day so what should i do as i have dreams of topping iitjee and getting a gold medal for india in physics olympiad.
For books like SL Loney Trigo and Co-ordinate Geometry ; Algebra by SK ; and Calculus by IA Maron .. Do we refer to them fully or just use them to solve problems ??? I am a JEE 16 aspirant. Pls tell
I cant find the book titled " integral calculus by amit agarwal ". Is the book"A Textbook of Integral Calculus for JEE Main & Advanced by amit agarwal " a newer edition of the book you specified?

Hello bhaiya I m varsha it true bhaiya that in maths practice means learning steps? In which we discover new things ways to solve which approach to take for which questions? And while solving a jee past year ques we have to recall as well as relate those things to the question at hand. Is learning steps the only way to master maths? My maths is weakest and chem is good .phy is in between. Bhaiya while u were giving ur iit in examination hall when u saw a maths questions what did u think-(i have seen this question in the past, here mod is involved so I do this that..did u first have to think about it or was it easy for u just at d first sight) as there are several questions to be solved in a limited time how didi u approach for them.? Also how did u study maths(solved the examples or attempted them first without seeing solution) maths decide rank so I want to improve it
Hi Aman, I'm a JEE 16 aspirant (Non-attending school) and sadly i wasted a few months of 11th std but now im serious and back in the game. I just wanted to know which book is better - RD SHARMA 11th and 12th CBSE or RD SHARMA FOR IIT ? BTW all people say that RD SHARMA FOR IIT is actually preferable for JEE MAINS as it doesnt have the higher level Questions for JEE ADVANCED! And as per my teachers at classes suggestion i refer to A DAS GUPTA for JEE level problems and it is time consuming. So how did you manage to solve all books up till JEE level.?? Reply quick pls and Thanks for this amazing blog! :D
Hey, I am a JEE '15 aspirant. I am a bit weak at maths and sometimes find it difficult to tackle the really tough and tricky problems of JEE level. Can you suggest a book that could help me improve my problem solving technique in a short time? P.S. Is it worth solving subjective questions in maths?

So should I give preference to the booklets or to the reference books? When I am not able to solve.. I get frustrated and close the book.. This has increased my backlogs. Specially in maths..for me, maths is toughest nut to crack in jee.. And I am tensed. .!!! Please help

Hello bhaiya, I wanted to know that do the toppers like you ,of course ,solve the problems, particularlyin maths, using the traditional methods, like the normal ones we use in board exams.or do you use some other methods. Also are those different methods preplanned or you think of them on the spot as per the question.
Hi Aman Bhaiya I m a jee 2017 aspirant..........plz tell me which is having more weightage in jee advanced maths; Co-ordinate geometry or permutation and combination Plz also tell me if there is a chance for jee 2017 to be subjective?
Your first question - Well, coordinate geometry is a module, while PnC is a single chapter from algebra. Now tell me which one do you think should have more weightage? For your second question - give me 1 reason for me to know if JEE would be objective or subjective ?
Hi aman, if u could tell me if jee 2017 can be subjective or not I will be highly obliged..... Also can u tell me what is importance/requirement of solving past year papers of iitjee???? For example - 37 years of iitjee by arihant publications......
Hi Aman, I am going to take jee in 2016. Can you pls guide me on how to study Permutation and combination, and probablity. In 90% of cases I dont get correct answers in this. I have met some people who without knowing the proper concept choose a correct answer. They say that there are some tricks for these chapters. Do you have any idea about this? And kindly suggest me a good book for these topics.
Secondly, writing a paper pen mode jee or taking up online jee.. which would be a better choice? Please reply AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. (I am a fiitjee student)
Hello Aman bhai.I am a JEE 2017 aspirant.I have joined 2 year RSM program.I want to know how to make full use of study modules given by fiit-jee because there are a lot of questions which use concepts that are not introduced till the time I get those modules for examples in straight lines there are questions which use inverse trigonometric functions that are not introduced to me and there are whole lot of questions from different topics with the same issue.I am worried as it kills my precious time and labor.Although MCQ seems to be relevant bt subjective ones are a nightmare. And I also wanted to know if SK goyal is a relevant book for algebra or not.Right now I am using HCV for physics, arihant calculus,SL loney trigonometry, coordinate,SK goyal algebra.RD Sharma, for maths and NCERT chemistry,RCM,LG Wade for chemistry.I dedicate daily 4-5 hrs on my preparations.Am I going in the right path??Please guide me bhai and suggest if there is any room for improvement.

Hi, I'm dropping a year and I'm solving Universal and ML Khanna. While solving it I get irritated easily, particularly when the question is too hard. How can I be focused?
Also in Physic's I'm solving Cengage and theory from HCV, ideally how much time should I spend on a chapter. And shall I solve questions from as well?
Hey Aman i wanted to ask you one question. If you were not able to do one problem, did you kept on trying it or saw the solution after few attempts? I am solving previous year JEE problems and sometimes it takes me more than an hour but i don't like to see the solution.I think it takes my lot of precious time and i should see the solution. What did you do in a situation like this?

What is bullien mathematics ? Under which topic does it come like algebra ,trigi etc. Which books to refer for this ?
ReplyDeleteI didn't knew where to ask , so please sorry commenting on unreleated page.
ReplyDeleteI have gone to 12th will be facing JEE mains/adv.
How should i proceed my topic priorities , i mean if i do mechanics now i will miss 12th portion....My backlogs are :-
Maths: Coordinate Geometry, complex .

ReplyDeleteHi Aman, during your early stages did you solve each and every sum from RD Sharma or some typical problems only. RD Sharma 11 and 12 are great, but time consuming too. A little advice in this. Just 1 year left(Actually less than one year now). Never solved RD Sharma in 11
ReplyDeleteWell I never solved Rd sharma
DeleteBut I have seen that book and I believe it's the beat book for fundamentals
What I would suggest you is to solve the "solved examples" yourself at least to get an idea
thnkz. btw did u do the same??? solving the example problems of ML Aggarwal(or any other book). Just curious
ReplyDeleteIs it ok to see the solutions after trying a problem for 15 minutes

ReplyDeleteHello bhaiya I m varsha it true bhaiya that in maths practice means learning steps?

ReplyDeleteHi Aman,

I just wanted to know which book is better - RD SHARMA 11th and 12th CBSE or RD SHARMA FOR IIT ?
BTW all people say that RD SHARMA FOR IIT is actually preferable for JEE MAINS as it doesnt have the higher level Questions for JEE ADVANCED!
And as per my teachers at classes suggestion i refer to A DAS GUPTA for JEE level problems and it is time consuming. So how did you manage to solve all books up till JEE level.??
Reply quick pls and Thanks for this amazing blog! :D

ReplyDeleteAman ,
ReplyDeleteShould I order DLP or depend upon my local coaching which is not quite up to the class?
Also how good is FIITJEE and Resonance material?
A combination of DLP + local coaching would be good.
DeleteFIITJEE - tough
Resonance - up to the mark
Hello bhaiya,
ReplyDeleteI wanted to know that do the toppers like you ,of course ,solve the problems, particularlyin maths, using the traditional methods, like the normal ones we use in board exams.or do you use some other methods. Also are those different methods preplanned or you think of them on the spot as per the question.
Initially sticking to traditional methods is best.
DeleteLater when you are an expert, you may devise your own tricks and shortcuts
Hi Aman Bhaiya
ReplyDeleteI m a jee 2017 aspirant..........plz tell me which is having more weightage in jee advanced maths;
Co-ordinate geometry or permutation and combination
Plz also tell me if there is a chance for jee 2017 to be subjective?
Your first question - Well, coordinate geometry is a module, while PnC is a single chapter from algebra. Now tell me which one do you think should have more weightage?
DeleteFor your second question - give me 1 reason for me to know if JEE would be objective or subjective ?
Bhaiya should I practice subjective or objective questions first?
ReplyDeletein mathematics
Hi aman,
ReplyDeleteif u could tell me if jee 2017 can be subjective or not I will be highly obliged.....
Also can u tell me what is importance/requirement of solving past year papers of iitjee???? For example - 37 years of iitjee by arihant publications......
Hi Aman,
ReplyDeleteI am going to take jee in 2016.
ReplyDeletePlease reply AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

Also in Physic's I'm solving Cengage and theory from HCV, ideally how much time should I spend on a chapter. And shall I solve questions from as well?
Waiting for your reply.
Thanks
