Bhaiya pls answer my this question... In ydse or single slit diffraction.... How is intensity related to the distance btween the slits... Cudnt find it anywhere.....
bhaiya, i sat for nsep 2013 but couldn't qualify. My concepts are clear but the type of problems they give are somewhat directly formulae based or direct results of questions from hcv and irodov. Could you give me some tips regarding this problem
Maybe because of poor examination temperament, your exam went bad. You should think about the following : Which questions went wrong ? Why did they go wrong ? Did you commit silly mistakes ? Did you make conceptual errors ? Did you go blank ? Did you leave a number of questions ? Were you able to solve subjective problems ?
The answer to these questions will help you to judge yourself
Buy fiitjee papers. Or maybe resonance/bansal/narayana test series. All are good but be warned that FIITJEE material is the toughest and sometimes it is irrelevant
AITS is not JEE. I agree that AITS questions are extremely tough but you should still try to work them out because the people ahead of you in AITS are going to be your competitors in JEE
Bhaiya, how did you manage space in the exam as the rough space is less and if solutions require more calculation what should be done to utilize space .One more thing ,what does nsep actually test ,memory ,concepts or both
For nsep : check past year papers. For rough space : manage it yourself. You are preparing for JEE. You should be smart enough to handle everything yourself
bhaiya ,could you tell me a list of topics in phyiscs (jee and nsep ) which are favourite of paper setters (ie. students don't generally pay attention to it ) so that i may focus on them if i have missed any.
Can you please answer some questions regarding your strategy towards physics :- 1)Did u use to read the chapter beforehand which was to be taught in your coaching?if yes, then from hc verma/halliday resnick or any other source? 2)What order did you use to follow at home for studying once a chapter was started in your coaching?if u had read the chapter beforehnd, then did you read the chapter again at home?how did you go solving questions(conceptual+numericals)??Did you first solve questions from hc verma or fiitjee pckge or dc pandey? 3) I personally find fiitjee's physics package to be tough?Did you also find it to be tough?
See, my physics teacher was just too awesome. So, I never needed a book for physics. His notes were sufficient. And he made us practice high level question that greatly improved my fundamentals. So, I just had to revise his notes and physics was done. I used to (sometimes) read ncert/hc verma before hand. I just went through the headings to see what was to be done. I never found fiitjee packages to be tough because tougher things were already done in class. My teacher used to make us solve olympiad and irodov questions in class and we enjoyed his class. Never faced any major problem in physics
i've solved the entire HC VERMA MECHANICS + (dc pandey MECHANICS (except subjective)).... do i really need to do irodov MECHANICS...! is it that necessary... can u tell the difference between IRODOV AND DC PANDEY....... (like PANDEY IS ____ % OF IRODOV)///.
No. It's not at all necessary if you are confident enough. Just try 4-5 problems of irodov from a particular chapter. If you are able to do them then congrats! you have understood the topic well. You may now choose to leave other part (not recommended although).
PS : Please don't insult irodov by comparing it with DC Pandey. Irodov is much better than DC Pandey
Sir i really want to get in IIT B and opt CSE GEN ctg. i just have an year left ( i am dropping) i had coaching but never paid attention. Now i can even kill a planet with Gas war.jk. this year i am not opting for coaching no money mate. So i was wondering if u could tell me about some study material and guidance. That'd be Great. Massive Thanks.plus i was wondering to go with MIT opencourse lectures. How that'd be ?
Aman, do u recommend solving problems from Halliday,Resnick ,WAlker after completing H C Verma or should I go with D C pandey ? (I will write JEE in 2015 )
The portion " Statics & Dynamics " :- 1)is it in JEE syllabus & should it be given proper 'individual' attention? 2)if the answer to the above question is no....from where should i get the concepts of centre of gravity, concept of couples, lami's theorem etc because i don't find them in HCV/Fundamentals of Physics.... 3)If answer to the first question is yes....please suggest the best book for Statics & Dynamics?
Aman, do u recommend solving problems from Halliday,Resnick ,WAlker after completing H C Verma or should I go with D C pandey ? (I will write JEE in 2015 )
No. I don't think that it's a book that you should "solve" for JEE. Rather, you should go with DC Pandey. Halliday is good for theory but not for problems
Aman, is theory from NCERT Physics necessary if am reading Resnick and HCV for theory. I know ncert problems are good but theory is damn boring yaar....what 2 do????????

I agree with you that Resnick halliday contains some totally out-of-the-world things........ Are these topics needed for JEE: 1. PE of a dipole 2. Application of Gauss law to 2 parallel conducting plates. And one unrelated topic (im sorry!) Do we need that Clausius - Clapyron equation? I found it in many books... <>
Aman, in physics mechanics when we get a answer, should we obey the rules of significant digits? I am asking this as I am solving HCV and my answers very slightly differ from the ones in the back

hi aman could you mention the best books for eletricity ,magnetism and optics. also i wanted to know whether you could publish your teacher's eletricity notes which you said were very good.
I am now in 10th class.Target JEE 17. Do you suggest Cengage Physics books for good basics with solved problems? Btw, I am already trying HCV and DCP mechanics, although it is taking lot of time
aman.. i am going to give jee in 2015..! i saw this year's advanced jee paper..>!!> i could score 70 in physics.. (portion completed till now covered 85 marks)!>!>. is tht a good sign? or was this year's paper an easy one??...

I will be giving jee in 2015.doing self study +resonance aits.i m very tensed as exam is near n I hv not completed the ehole syllabus yet . bhaiya till when can I complete my syllabus so that I can secure a rank under 500 in advanced. I am a dropper .already have the basic idea of all chapters having very good command on few topics which I like the most in pcm. (Complex no, calculus, electricity and magnetism, most of chemistry) but as I said I get stuck completing the syllabus. Hi Aman I am JEE aspirant 2016. I want to ask you which books should I refer to "Irodov" or "Halliday Resnick". If there is another book please mention. Thanks in advance
Hello sir I am a jee aspirant and wish to make it big like u I am going to join coaching classes this year in . It might be time wasting for you but can make my life can you please give me a list of all the books that you did for jee advance. I have read your blog thoroughly too please sir it will be of utmost importance to me i want the same books which u did
hi bhaiya ...im a student from your home town ...actually im facing problenm in mechanics at initial stage....vectors, kinematics, forces ets....im understanding it well....bt cannot resist...the subject is so interesting ...bt i dnt noe wat it is im facing huge broblem in numerical part ...i know i can do it ...bt literally im facing this issue...im expecting a 3 digit rank in jee....nd want to make physics as a rank elevator....can u please guide some howw....????
Hello, Aman I am going to sit for NSEP 2015. I love physics but i am somewhat confused about exam temperament. It would be great if you can tell me, how you went through NSEP/INPHO question paper? (sorry if comment is long :P)
Hello bhaiya I will be appearing for jee-2016 but I'm still not feel that my concepts are clear. I'm very much comfortable with maths and chemistry only because of physics I'm not getting a good rank in AIITS and phase test so can you please suggest me something to clear my concepts ...
Aman bhaiyya isn't Resnick Halliday Krane a good book for theory?I am a JEE 2017 aspirant.Apart from HCV which would be a better book for strengthening my concepts and enhancing my problem solving efficiency particularly for JEE Advanced Physics?
Did you solve the whole fiitjee archive for physics (as well as for chemistry and maths) ? And did you solve the study material of fiitjee completely for physics (as well as for chemistry and maths) ?
I am a JEE 2016 aspirant, I was told by my friends that the normalisation of JEE has been changed for this year. Is that true or will my board marks(CBSE) affect my JEE rank?
The recomended books mentioned by you..For physics-HC VERMA,For physical chemistry- OP Tandon + RC Mukherjee,For organic chemistry LG Wade,For Inorganic chemistry JE Lee,For Mathematics -TMT .....these all are just for iit...or also for ISC...And will it do in ISC in ICSE board......
Respected Sir, My son is preparing for iit jee 2017. My query was that if he has 2 basic and 4 advanced books how many of these should he solve at home for a chapter which has been recently taught in coaching class. ( not as revision) thanks
Hi Aman, My son is going to appear for JEE 2018. Please advise regarding the source for getting answers/ solutions to problems in Resnick/Halliday/Walker.
I am weak at physics and chemistry but excellent in maths.I am able to solve good number of problems in physics and chemistry but I find that I struggle with basic theory and problems which are not straight forward specially in Chemistry. I am in class 11 now with Just kinematics NLM and WPE done in physics and atomic structure and chemical equilibrium in chemistry but class 11 math syllabus is done from resonance sheet.I would like to know what should be my strategy to clear jee given that just 2.5 months left in class 12
If you are average student than Cengage series is best for you it has theory plus concept application exercises. If your theory is very clear then move to a advanced book which have tough questions.
@aman you are awesome ! I have query -plz ans I am partial dropper and going to appear for JEE 2017 ..PS I had rank 22 thousand in JEE main 2016 n 19000 rank in advance I really want to give JEE in 2017 . so I had started preparing ..
.. I hadn't join any coaching institute in 2016 JEE n this year also I can't ( because there are some problems) so plz guide me .. I had bought Vidyalankar study material fiitjee aits from olx ( I live in Mumbai ) is that enough ? I know as a partial dropper I would face a lot of problems ! But this year I going to give my best shot... So I dnt kno what rank I would get.. But I would try. Now I have hcv ,arihant series for maths n coaching modules if I want to practice more problems then what should I do ? Reso rank booster ? I would be completing my portion in Jan 2017 So what should be my strategy ?
Hello bhaiya..... U r doing a great job inspiring lots of young minds.. I am able to solve problems from fiitjee package and hc verma even able to solve questions from dc pandey jee mains portion but unfortunately jee advaance questions I am unable to solve ..what needs to be done here?
hey aman i am in 10th now.I know basic mechanics, calculus. Now i am having some problems in Magnetism. I cant understand the theory well enough to solve good problems. From which book should i study it?
Hey, I have searched did places but was not able to find a proper formula for slope of a 3 dimensional figure because that can make vectors really easy in some parts, I'll be really thankful if you could help with it. Also another query, like for calculus in the normal institute book there are 10-15 formulae for differentiation and integration each but in another book there are like 40-50 but many are derived from the simplest forms , so what do you suggest, I should just keep my basics strong and imply on questions or learn all those derived formulae and answer the question in like one two step which can be much much more stressful and time consuming.
Hey aman I have questions when should a person solve ie irodov suppose if I want to solve kinematics in it1) after completing chapter 2)after completing 11th 3)after completing whole mechanics which is best one and plz reply soon

Hi Aman, I am JEE 18 aspirant. I am a student of FIITJEE Kolkata. Our physics faculty didnt taught Gravitation and told that it will be automatically clear after studying Electrostatics in class 12. Is it okay or should I study Gravitaion on my own???
Aman bhaiya i m feel8ng uncomfortable with Amit aggarwaal...it seems too tough...i m dropping a year ...i hv joined Fiitjee.. and was already a students of Fiitjee... can i follow cengage...i m very serious abt going to iit
Aman baiya i am uncomfortable with hc verma i want to take book who have a topic wise lots of examples and question book who start from low level finish high level
I have started my jee preparation one month before my class 10 boards. I don't think that I will be able to finish 10 books per subject in 2 years. So what should I do now?
Sir, I'm in class XII preparing for JEE. I'm an average student and can't remember most of the concepts after physics class.... Sir, can u please give me some tips on how to crack iit problems
Bhaiya pls answer my this question...
ReplyDeleteIn ydse or single slit diffraction.... How is intensity related to the distance btween the slits... Cudnt find it anywhere.....
Hey, I don't remember those things now. It's been a year. How do you expect me to remember those formulas ?
DeleteThey were just for JEE purposes.
@Sudhanshu
DeleteWhat do you mean by dist. b/w slits in single slit diffraction?
bhaiya, i sat for nsep 2013 but couldn't qualify. My concepts are clear but the type of problems they give are somewhat directly formulae based or direct results of questions from hcv and irodov. Could you give me some tips regarding this problem
ReplyDeleteMaybe because of poor examination temperament, your exam went bad.
DeleteYou should think about the following :
Which questions went wrong ?
Why did they go wrong ?
Did you commit silly mistakes ?
Did you make conceptual errors ?
Did you go blank ?
Did you leave a number of questions ?
Were you able to solve subjective problems ?
The answer to these questions will help you to judge yourself
from where can I get some sample papers (except the previous year papers ) sothat i can practice
DeleteBuy fiitjee papers. Or maybe resonance/bansal/narayana test series.
DeleteAll are good but be warned that FIITJEE material is the toughest and sometimes it is irrelevant
can you post about ELECTRICITY AND MAGNETISM ... feels it's a big gun!
ReplyDeleteSure. But you should post all this on the feedback/suggestions page
Deletenext time ... no mistakes./
Deletebhaiya i am getting 1450 rank in AIITS .is it going to help me in getting in top 500 rank?how to improve in AIITS as the questions are quite tough?
ReplyDeleteAITS is not JEE.
DeleteI agree that AITS questions are extremely tough but you should still try to work them out because the people ahead of you in AITS are going to be your competitors in JEE
Bhaiya, how did you manage space in the exam as the rough space is less and if solutions require more calculation what should be done to utilize space .One more thing ,what does nsep actually test ,memory ,concepts or both
ReplyDeleteFor nsep : check past year papers.
DeleteFor rough space : manage it yourself. You are preparing for JEE. You should be smart enough to handle everything yourself
how is dc pandey boook for jee
ReplyDeleteAre you really kidding me ?
DeleteSo which book would you suggest for Objectives ?
Deletebut aman you recommended dc pandey, please do reply
Deleteits a sarcasm guys ...
DeleteHe means it is good .
bhaiya ,could you tell me a list of topics in phyiscs (jee and nsep ) which are favourite of paper setters (ie. students don't generally pay attention to it ) so that i may focus on them if i have missed any.
ReplyDeleteAll the topics are important. None can be neglected

ReplyDeleteYeah the blog is always there to help you.
DeleteGo through all the posts carefully
MIT lectures : Not required at all from the point of JEE
Aman, I am a JEE 2015 aspirant,is the old edition of dc pandey (2008) good ?
ReplyDeleteyes it should be good
DeleteDid you solve each and every question of Halliday & Resnick???Did you read all of it or only some chapters?
ReplyDeleteI read only some chapters from that book (when nothing else was left to be done)
DeleteAnd what about the questions in halliday resnick?Did you solve them?
Delete?
Deletecan u list the difficulty order according to u in the different topics of PHYSICS
ReplyDeleteMECHANICS...ELECTRICITY AND MAGNETISM...OPTICS..WAVES..HEAT AND THERMODYNAMICS.
(please don't say... all are same and depends on viwepoints and all tht...)
yes it depends on view point.
DeleteThis is all I can say

ReplyDeleteHi Aman
ReplyDeleteI am JEE aspirant 2016. I want to ask you which books should I refer to "Irodov" or "Halliday Resnick".
If there is another book please mention.
Thanks in advance
Hello sir
ReplyDeleteI am a jee aspirant and wish to make it big like u I am going to join coaching classes this year in . It might be time wasting for you but can make my life can you please give me a list of all the books that you did for jee advance. I have read your blog thoroughly too please sir it will be of utmost importance to me
i want the same books which u did
I am finding difficulty to solve problems of IE Irodov can you give me few tips to solve them
ReplyDeleteHi aman , what major and scoring topics are to be studied while preparing for nsec , how much time is needed to cover the topics , hope you would help
ReplyDeletehi bhaiya ...im a student from your home town ...actually im facing problenm in mechanics at initial stage....vectors, kinematics, forces ets....im understanding it well....bt cannot resist...the subject is so interesting ...bt i dnt noe wat it is im facing huge broblem in numerical part ...i know i can do it ...bt literally im facing this issue...im expecting a 3 digit rank in jee....nd want to make physics as a rank elevator....can u please guide some howw....????
ReplyDeleteHello, Aman I am going to sit for NSEP 2015. I love physics but i am somewhat confused about exam temperament. It would be great if you can tell me, how you went through NSEP/INPHO question paper? (sorry if comment is long :P)
ReplyDeleteNSEP is a simple exam to crack. Don't worry. You aren't losing anything serious if you fail

ReplyDeleteHello bhaiya I will be appearing for jee-2016 but I'm still not feel that my concepts are clear. I'm very much comfortable with maths and chemistry only because of physics I'm not getting a good rank in AIITS and phase test so can you please suggest me something to clear my concepts ...
ReplyDeleteTry reading Resnick Halliday theory
DeleteWhich one will be better Resnick Halliday krane or Resnick halliday walker.
DeleteAman bhaiyya isn't Resnick Halliday Krane a good book for theory?I am a JEE 2017 aspirant.Apart from HCV which would be a better book for strengthening my concepts and enhancing my problem solving efficiency particularly for JEE Advanced Physics?
ReplyDeleteCheck out books section
DeleteDid you solve the whole fiitjee archive for physics (as well as for chemistry and maths) ? And did you solve the study material of fiitjee completely for physics (as well as for chemistry and maths) ?
ReplyDeleteYes
DeleteDo you used to solve each and every question of I.E Irodov during your preparation days or u would just do few of them ?
ReplyDeleteEvery single question will teach you a new concept
Deletethx ....
DeleteI also want to ask if that variable mass system in COM is it in jee advanced syllabus (like that rocket propulsion thing) ?
Deleteyeah it is .
DeleteI am a JEE 2016 aspirant, I was told by my friends that the normalisation of JEE has been changed for this year. Is that true or will my board marks(CBSE) affect my JEE rank?
ReplyDeleteThe recomended books mentioned by you..For physics-HC VERMA,For physical chemistry- OP Tandon + RC Mukherjee,For organic chemistry LG Wade,For Inorganic chemistry JE Lee,For Mathematics -TMT .....these all are just for iit...or also for ISC...And will it do in ISC in ICSE board......
ReplyDeleteRespected Sir,
ReplyDeleteMy son is preparing for iit jee 2017. My query was that if he has 2 basic and 4 advanced books how many of these should he solve at home for a chapter which has been recently taught in coaching class. ( not as revision)
thanks
Hi Aman,
ReplyDeleteMy son is going to appear for JEE 2018. Please advise regarding the source for getting answers/ solutions to problems in Resnick/Halliday/Walker.
Thanks,
S Mittal.

ReplyDeleteBhaiya when will u post on electricity and magnetism?..its been a year now!
ReplyDeletebhaiya mera math kuch weak hai practice krne ke bawazood ni cnfidence aa rha hai . kn book best hoga?
ReplyDeleteIf you are average student than Cengage series is best for you it has theory plus concept application exercises.
DeleteIf your theory is very clear then move to a advanced book which have tough questions.
i am not able to solve dc pandey , only basic questions. wat shud i do . pls help
ReplyDeleteTry harder?
DeleteCould you give some tips about vectors please
ReplyDelete@aman you are awesome ! I have query -plz ans
ReplyDeleteI am partial dropper and going to appear for JEE 2017 ..PS
I had rank 22 thousand in JEE main 2016 n 19000 rank in advance
I really want to give JEE in 2017 . so I had started preparing ..
But
I would try.
Now I have hcv ,arihant series for maths n coaching modules if I want to practice more problems then what should I do ? Reso rank booster ? I would be completing my portion in Jan 2017
So what should be my strategy ?
Hello bhaiya.....
ReplyDeleteU r doing a great job inspiring lots of young minds..
ReplyDeleteHey, I have searched did places but was not able to find a proper formula for slope of a 3 dimensional figure because that can make vectors really easy in some parts, I'll be really thankful if you could help with it.
ReplyDeletehey aman , i am having major test in my classes the topics are
ReplyDeletephysics:
1.circular motion
2.work and power energy
3.ray optics
maths:
1.circles
2.sequences and series
chemistry:
1.thermodynamics and thermochemistry
2.chemical bonding
how should i prepare all these chapters for major test
ReplyDeleteOh sorry! I forgot to say bhaiya
ReplyDeleteHey aman I have questions when should a person solve ie irodov suppose if I want to solve kinematics in it1) after completing chapter 2)after completing 11th 3)after completing whole mechanics which is best one and plz reply soon

DeleteHi Aman, I am JEE 18 aspirant.
ReplyDeleteI am a student of FIITJEE Kolkata. Our physics faculty didnt taught Gravitation and told that it will be automatically clear after studying Electrostatics in class 12. Is it okay or should I study Gravitaion on my own???
Hey Aman . Just wanted to know if you have solved every problem of irodov???
ReplyDeleteIs University Physics good for learning concepts
ReplyDeleteIs University Physics good for learning concepts
ReplyDeleteNothing on electricity and magnetism?
ReplyDeletein order to crack a good rank in jee advanced should we be thorough with HC VERMA..??
ReplyDeleteAman bhaiya i m feel8ng uncomfortable with Amit aggarwaal...it seems too tough...i m dropping a year ...i hv joined Fiitjee.. and was already a students of Fiitjee... can i follow cengage...i m very serious abt going to iit
ReplyDeletePlease can you tell me ki rocket propulsion her main Sara hai ki nahi
ReplyDeleteIs HC Verma enough for NSEP?
ReplyDeleteif you are easily able to solve hcv then u should aim for high level books like krotov. By the way bro you are in which class?
DeleteAs a dropper in what sequence should i follow bm sharma series?
ReplyDeleteAman baiya i am uncomfortable with hc verma i want to take book who have a topic wise lots of examples and question book who start from low level finish high level

ReplyDeleteI have started my jee preparation one month before my class 10 boards. I don't think that I will be able to finish 10 books per subject in 2 years. So what should I do now?
ReplyDeleteyou should not check quantity, rather check quality
DeleteSir, I'm in class XII preparing for JEE. I'm an average student and can't remember most of the concepts after physics class.... Sir, can u please give me some tips on how to crack iit problems
ReplyDeleteThe chapter on Error and Experiments is so boring.....how to develop some interest in it.
ReplyDeleteSir can i completely rely on physics galaxy by ashish arora and irodov for jee advanced?
ReplyDeleteI studied the books in the below sequence:
Delete1. HC Verma
2. DC Pandey
3. IE Irodov
I do not know about Galaxy by Ashish Arora, so I would avoid commenting about that.
