Post for those who wasted class 11th (and droppers)

A large number of you ask me what to do when you have fully wasted class 11th.
Well, its not the end. You can study hard and be back in the race.
Rather than wondering what to do, go, pick up the books and study.
The usual books have been mentioned umpteen number of times on the blog. Go through them, read the theory and solve problems earnestly.
Focus more on class 12th concepts. However, you will also have to cover class 11th concepts in parallel because class 12th concepts demand the use of class 11th concepts (for example, an electromagnetism problem maybe solved by energy conservation).
Focus more on problem solving. Try to cover theory from a few books but problems from several books to gain an idea of the type of problems you are expected to know.
The standard text books will teach you almost everything and you should remain restricted to a handful of books.
Put in more hours in studying than in wondering what to do.
Try to complete the syllabus as soon as possible so that you can start with test series and revision packages which are surely helpful.
TIP 1: focus less on school work. It is simply a waste of time if you are aiming to be an IITian. Focus more on JEE preparation
TIP 2: tip 1 above does not mean ignoring NCERT.

Since those who wasted class 11th are essentially in the same boat as that of droppers, this post applies to the droppers as well.

  9. Bhaiyya, first of all its a bit of personal question.I am a repeater.I scored 155 marks in JEE MAIN and 8 marks less than cut off in JEE Advanced. My bad result was all due to my own carelessness. I took local coaching during previous 2 years. Now I have joined FIITJEE kalu sarai.I have a great problem of home sicknesses.I have been staying here for 2 days. You don't know how I am feeling now.I want to go home back. Its not possible for me to come here daily. So I will be relying on self study.I will come here for doubts clearing and tests.I have full faith in my potential. So finally I want your suggestion regarding this life-changing decision.

    1. Life is not just about living at home in the comfort zone.
Grow up, com out of your comfort zone, prove the world what you are, make your parents and family proud of you, study hard and fulfill your dreams and ambitions.

  16. Hi aman . Im studying in fiitjee chennai centre . Im in the top ten of my coaching classes . Revision phase has started . What about you ? Did you attend all the fiitjee revision classes ? Cause instead of solving more problems they are reteaching all the concepts which i find futile.

  18. Hello Aman sir,
I'm a jee aspirant 2019 and I have wasted 1 year. Now I have realised the importance of time. If I work harder can I still get a rank under 50?
