Can students studying at FIITJEE share their experiences and views about the institute?

I was a student at FIITJEE Kanpur from April 2011 to May 2013. I appeared for JEE Advanced on 2nd June 2013.

Good things about FIITJEE:

  • Excellent study material - FIITJEE material is undoubtedly quite a difficult one. If you're aiming for a top JEE rank, it is one of the best study materials you can get.
  • Small classrooms - I joined the newly opened FIITJEE Kanpur and each batch had about 25 - 30 students only.
  • Competition - FIITJEE conducts quarterly phase tests across all centers (~100 at that time). This is a great way to evaluate your standing at a National level.
  • AITS - FIITJEE test series is undoubtedly the toughest one and the majority of JEE toppers appear for it. Again, that gives you a great platform to compete with the same JEE toppers with whom you will eventually compete in JEE. Note that any student can join AITS.
  • Support - if you're doing well but the local center isn't supporting you (which happened with me), you can escalate the matter and the senior management would be happy to assist you in whatever way possible.

Now the negatives:

  • Inexperienced faculty - some faculty members waste time. You just don't want to attend their classes. Many are great though and it depends from center to center. I was dependent heavily on self-study, so this didn't affect me much.
  • Errors in the study material - packages, GMP, AITS have quite a few errors. Often this leads to time wastage.

By and large, FIITJEE is a great institute. The benefits for 1 person may be the negatives for you. For instance, I loved the fact that AITS was above JEE level. For many students, it is a demotivating factor. Analyze what's best for you and plan accordingly.
