Which books did you use for physics for the JEE Advanced?

Here are some of the books that I used during my JEE preparation:

  • HC Verma: A great book for starting the preparation. The book is highly recommended by all the teachers. It is great for a start, especially if you are targeting a rank in the range of 1,000 - 5,000 in JEE Advanced.
  • DC Pandey Series: Arguably the best book series for JEE Advanced. I’d highly recommend it. If you are targeting a rank in the range of 500 - 3,000, this book series is an absolute must. You will thoroughly enjoy the content of the book series since it is tailored for JEE preparation.
  • Resnick Halliday: The book is great for detailed theory. The problems aren’t that good, but the theory portion is excellent. Use it as additional reading to clarify concepts that you don’t thoroughly understand.
  • IE Irodov: If you are aiming for a top 1,000 rank, you should absolutely solve this book. All the top rankers I have seen at IITB have solved IE Irodov. The book contains some really challenging problems and is excellent not only for JEE but also for Physics Olympiad.
